In some cases, Padel Courts are located in areas with birds, and birds may hit the glass walls of the Padel Court and suffer serious injuries. If this is the case, we recommend the use of “Anti-Collision Bird Stickers“.
Bird silhouettes on glass panels are somewhat effective at reducing bird collisions, but they are not a foolproof solution. Birds often don’t perceive glass as a barrier, and the reflections of trees or sky can make glass appear like open space. The effectiveness of silhouettes depends on several factors:
Placement and Density: If the silhouettes are spaced too far apart, birds may try to fly between them. Studies recommend that any markings on the glass, including silhouettes, follow the “2×4 rule” (markings should be placed every 2 inches horizontally or every 4 inches vertically).
Contrast and Visibility: The silhouettes need to have strong contrast with their background. Darker silhouettes stand out better against brighter backgrounds (like the sky), while lighter ones may be more effective against darker reflections.
Types of Silhouettes: Some research indicates that birds might not react strongly to predator-shaped silhouettes (like hawks). Any type of opaque or reflective shape can help, but consistency across the surface is key.
